What's It All About?
Buildings account for approximately 40% of our nation’s energy use and carbon emissions. Meanwhile, the waste generated by new construction and demolition accounts for nearly 25% of municipal waste. Green design is about addressing these and other environmental issues through careful planning, design, and construction. Through measures that include voluntary participation in the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Homes program, Wilber School Apartments is creating new apartments in Sharon, MA, that offer energy efficiency, improved indoor air quality, and reduced environmental impact.
